Tennessee State Bicentennial Tree

The yellowwood tree (Cladrastis lutea) was designated the state bicentennial tree of Tennessee in 1991. The yellowwood has wisteria-like blossoms in spring (approximately one foot long) and the leaves turn a bright gold in autumn.
