Tennessee designated the smallmouth bass as official state game fish in 2005. Tennessee recognizes a state commercial fish as well (the channel catfish). Largemouth BassThe largemouth bass (or bigmouth) can be found in most lakes and streams of Tennessee and was chosen as the official state sport fish in 1988 (expired in - 2005).
