Tennessee designated the small-mouth bass as official state game fish in 2005. Tennessee recognizes a state commercial fish as well (the channel catfish).
Sport Fish: Large-Mouth Bass
The large-mouth bass (or bigmouth) can be found in most lakes and streams of Tennessee and was chosen as the official state sport fish in 1988.
