Fine Art - Porcelain Painting

Porcelain painting was designated the state fine art of Tennessee in 1981.

Artists

Artist-in-residence: H.R. Lovell was designated Tennessee's artist-in-residence in 2000 for expressing the spirit and assets of Tennessee through his works.

State artist: Burton Callicott was designated Tennessee's official state artist in 1991 recognizing his many contributions to the art community in Memphis and the state of Tennessee.

Tennessee Treasures painting: Tennessee Treasures by Tennessee artist Michael Sloan was adopted as the state painting of Tennessee in 1997.

Official Art Form - Songwriting

Songwriting was designated as one of Tennessee's official art forms in 2003, applauding individuals who are or have been skillful masters of this art form. See lyrics for Tennessee's state songs.

Poetry

Tennessee designates a Poet Laureate and an Ambassador of Letters as well as specific works as state poems (read more about Tennessee poems and poets).

Theater

The Tennessee Theatre is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was designated the state theater of Tennessee in 1999 (read more about the Tennessee state Theater in Knoxville ).
