The North Dakota Museum of Art

The North Dakota Museum of Art (on the North Dakota University Campus at Grand Forks) was designated the official art museum of the state in 1981. Striving to bring the best in regional, national and international art to the people of North Dakota and the Great Plains, the museum offers exhibitions, educational programs, and live events.

From the art museum's statement of purpose:

"We have come to value the arts because they make our hearts wise - the highest of human goals.
Therefore ... we propose to build a world-class museum for the people of North Dakota and its surrounding region."
